Riding high on your latest victory
Waiting for the sideshow to return
To the place it matters least
Pulls you in for its guilty feast
So many punished who never knew
It was all the same to you
They don't remember and never will
Blissful ignorance lasting still
You remember, you alone
And this is how they came to know
All is done, all because of you
All is done, got to see it through
Standing on the edge above
With the one you're thinking of
Reliving all the things you had
How can you stand another day
Of pushing keys and counting change
No, you'll never make the grade
All your life, have you forgotten them
Helped you up when you fell down
But these lies, poisoned memories
It was always easy
Using what you need close at hand
Play the part of friend in need
Maybe that will quell your greed
What lives on is not their face
How they're used takes up that space
Giving back was not your way
Now they haunt you every day
Yearning, turning dead/alive
Memories they churn inside
Thoughts of friends and family
Will this be all that's left of me?
It's too late to thank them now
A warning shot across the bow
When you think that this is through
Understand they live in you
Take the blame, all on you.
I remember walks along the road
All the stories of our future untold
Little time together, no fault of our own
Never had time to say goodbye
I guess that's just the way it goes
There's a light up on the hill
Not far away, the trees start to listen
I used to think the memories lived here
Locked away until I returned
But they don't dwell in this place
They are my shadow staying out of sight
No more walks along the road
You haven't changed despite all this
The comfort of your ignorant bliss
The secret no one cares to learn
Breaks your reverie in the end
What lives on is not their face
How they're used takes up that space
Giving back was not your way
Now they haunt you every day

Incredible piece of prog-metal. Really has some kick-ass riffs and solo-parts.
Maybe a tad bit weak vocals, but makes up for it with excellent intrumentals. Martin færøy

Love and peace to Ukraine! With the horrible news about the ongoing war in Karfagen's and Antony's home country and his home town of Charkiw, it's hard to find the proper words, praising this beautiful, symphonic prog album...
I wish you and yours all the best - keep safe!!! Carsten Pieper
